Breaking the Laws of Physics With Good Manners—the 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk

We have a hunch that the fantasy in most of our heads when it came to the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk was a roaring exhaust note, squealing tires, and a whole lot of insanity all the way to sixty. But now that reviewers have their hands on it, we’re learning that this 707-hp SUV is actually better mannered than many expected.

While you’ll find nothing polite about the road of the supercharged HEMI, the power comes on without much fuss. In a similarly-powered SRT Hellcat, you get plenty of drama from the tires. That’s not the case in the Trackhawk, which puts its 707 horses to the Quadra-Tec AWD system so well, you launch with nary a chirp. In 3.5 seconds you hit sixty, and it takes just 114 feet to come to a complete stop. That’s partly because of the meaty Brembo brakes and massive rotors, but also some engineering magic elsewhere. This might seem like breaking the laws of physics, but at least the Trackhawk has some pretty good manners.

The Trackhawk joins an already expansive family of midsize SUVs under the Grand Cherokee name. If this makes the process of choosing one more daunting, let the sales team at our Roseburg, OR dealership assist you. Browse our new Jeep model inventory online, and contact us for your test drive.
