There are some exciting developments in the works for Dodge this year, and recent spy photos give us an idea of what exactly we can from one particular model. For starters, the new model has been nicknamed 'Hellcat,' indicating it is definitely going to be bringing power and performance to a whole new level.
Spotted testing in the heat of California's Death Valley, was a hot new version of the Dodge Challenger known as the 2015 SRT 'Hellcat.' It gets the ferocious name from its HEMI V-8 engine that is predicted to crank out up to 640 horsepower. This is in keeping with its closely related SRT Viper supercar with a 8.4-liter V-10 engine.
In addition to its power, the spy photos reveal the model will feature a design with a lower air-intake. This will allow more air to reach the engine to cool its temperature. With the amount of power it will generate, we can see why the design needed to be adjusted.
It appears as though the new Challenger will be sporting enhanced mufflers as well, and we can expect to see some suspension upgrades and the use of light-weight materials to boost the car's aerodynamics and speed. The model will be making its debut in dealerships like Lithia Chrysler Jeep Dodge of Roseburg as early as next summer.
While the official name for the model as yet to be determined, we have a feeling the 'Hellcat' nickname is here to stay. As more details arise, we will be sure to keep you updated right here on our blog. Until then, we encourage you to stop by our Rosenburg, OR showroom to take a look at what our new Dodge lineup currently has to offer!
