There's an all-new 2017 Jeep Compass coming to the 2017 New York International Auto Show in April, and it's come a long way. We've seen Sport, Latitude, Limited and Trailhawk hard-chargers at the 2016 Los Angeles Auto Show. She appeared to the praise of Jeep Brand Director Scott Tallon at Detroit's show. And the CUV segment's going to love her when her second generation comes in late spring.

And the highlights, like respectable fuel economy of up to 30 mpg to take you down the road or through the bush, just barely scratch her more than 65-percent lightweight, high-strength steel-supported surface. 2.0-liter I-4 and 2.4-liter I-4 DOHC, 16-valve dual variable-valve timing (VVT) engine options keep Compass up to road-warrior tasks, with CVT2, Powertech six-speed automatic and continuously-variable transaxle transmissions to keep the CUV a model of traversing terrain and weather diverse and adverse. The gauntlet of adventure's run with standard front-wheel drive or optional available Freedom Drive I or Trail-Rated Freedom Drive II Off-Road Package-equipped drivetrain options.
2017 Compass appears built for dynamics to match her off-road prowess, too, with a stiff, small-wide-architecture, mass-efficient body and frame atop a fully independent suspension. Jeep's Trailhawk iteration is a group standout, showcasing a one-inch-increased ride height, skid plates, Jeep signature red front and rear tow hooks, a 20:1 crawl ratio and intimidating 17-inch off-road tires. In synergy, they'll make the beast capable of hauling up to 2,000 pounds, surmounting uneven road and unbeaten paths, and overcoming a variety of obstacles, including up to 19 inches of water.
On these grounds, 2017 NYIAS ought to show that it's no small wonder a February 24 Jeep press release describes its compact sport-utility having "best-in-class [Jeep Active Drive full-time] 4x4 off-road capability, advanced fuel-efficient powertrains, a premium and authentic Jeep design, superior on-road driving dynamics, open-air freedom, and a host of innovative safety and advanced technology offerings." More builds and options are likely to appear, including more than 90 new MOPAR accessories for Compass when it arrives in North American Jeep dealerships during the first quarter of 2017, so stay tuned. In the meantime, take a ride in one of our front- or four-wheel-drive 2017 Jeep Cherokee, Grand Cherokee, Patriot, Renegade, Wrangler or Wrangler Unlimited models to get a feel for what the line can do for your Roseburg area excursions here at our 1600 NE Airport Rd. showroom.
